"Go Make A Difference"
Blessing Box
Our blessing box items below seem to be the most popular:
Chief Boyardee’s canned products (ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna etc.) Campbell’s Soup
Any type of canned fruit (mixed, pineapple, peaches, pears)
Tuna fish in water, Mac and Cheese
Toothpaste
You can donate these items by placing them in the plastic containers (marked blessing box) just inside the front door of the Church.
Thank you to all who are supporting this ministry with food donations. The box frequently needs replenishment, signifying that it is serving the community.
Canned Food for Federal Point Help Center in November:
Jelly, Canned Fruit, Hot Cereal, and Beans (not green beans)
The area covered by the Federal Point Help Center has expanded to include (Holy Cross), Monkey Junction to Piner Road, Pleasure Island and areas in between due to the increase in rent prices.
Christmas Jellies and Jam
Every year the Federal Point Help Center gathers food items for Christmas baskets to give to those in need. This year the Help Center is asking for 120 jars of jellies and jams. If everyone brings one or two jars - we will easily be able to knock this request out of the ballpark! Rev. Anne has been told that the center is assisting many from the neighborhood around us. This is an awesome way to give back to our community and immediate neighbors. Please place the jars of jelly and jams in the basket in the narthex no later than December 12.
Christmas Outreach Project 2024
Holy Cross has participated in the Angel Tree Ministry, and we’ve been able to serve hundreds of children in our area over the years. Angel Tree is assigning Holy Cross three families with a total of seven children. We will joyfully see that these seven children receive gifts from their incarcerated parent.
And, we want to spread more joy!
The western part of our state was devastated by Hurricane Helene. So, this year Holy Cross will also partner with Mary C. Williams in collecting toys for children in the counties of Avery, Mitchell and Yancey. Please bring an unwrapped gift to Holy Cross before Wednesday, November 20 and we will see that the gifts are taken to Mary C. Williams School by the 22nd to be distributed. You may bring a gift for elementary, middle, or high school boys or girls.
Your generosity in this time of need will bring smiles and shine a light in the world.
Please feel free to contact me (910-330- 2004) or Barbara Howard (860-798-4554) if you have questions.
Thank you.
