Warner Memorial Garden
Several years ago a committee was formed to look into a place on our property for a quiet space to be able to go to enjoy nature’s beauty and have a place for quiet time. Not only that, but it is a final resting place for Holy Cross members, their family members and other relatives should they elect this to be their final resting place. The original committee was headed by Fred Hammond with Beverley and Sandy Hill, Ted Guilford and Carl and Judith Beckett as committee members. It is named in honor of the Rev. Dr. Richard Warner, Jr. and his wife, Frances Broadfoot Warner. It was constructed in stages – first the columbarium and donor monuments, then the walkway and plants. If you have not been out to see the garden, please do so. Sit down on one of the benches (graciously donated by Harold Layne and his late wife, Mary Lou) and just take in the beauty and quietness of the garden. It is in the left corner of our back lot, across from the playground.
