On October 30th more than 200 kids from churches that support the Help Hub gathered together to put a new spin on the Halloween tradition of "Trick-or-Treating". Earlier in the week residence of Wrightsville Beach received brown paper grocery bags with a letter asking for non-perishable food donations. The letter further explained that our youth would be collecting those bags on the following Sunday. Instead of collecting candy this Halloween, our young people collected bags of donations. We are happy to report that close to 1,000 cans of food were collected during the event. This food will go to "The Rescue Mission" which offers both physical and spiritual healing to the homeless population of Wilmington. They provide food, shelter and clothing, as well as daily chapel, prayer services, and self-help groups within the community. They have made it their duty to serve the homeless, hungry, and hurting of Wilmington for over 35 years.
A special thank you to our youth who participated: Elijah, Laney and Anna!
