Dear Parish Family,
The junior and senior wardens, along with the treasurer and the rector search committee met online with Bishop Skirving on Thursday, April 16, 2020 to review the search process and to ask questions. The bishop assured all present that there would be ongoing diocesan support for Holy Cross. He then proceeded to give an overview of the steps involved. This included writing a parish search prayer or collect for the discernment ahead. He also emphasized the importance of obtaining input from all parish members detailing what is special about Holy Cross and what we see as the most important work for our future rector.
In the upcoming days and weeks the Search Committee will begin its work preparing for the task of selecting the best candidate for the Vestry to review and elect. During this time there will be little to update; however, much work will be going on behind the scenes. Soon small group or “cottage” meetings will be convened to solicit your valuable input on what is important to you and the life of Holy Cross.
The Vestry is thrilled to have such knowledgeable and dedicated members leading Holy Cross in this important effort. They are: Jenny Scott and Heather Wilson, co-chairs; Bob Underwood, Carolyn Moore, Kathleen McLaren, Tom Cordle, and Ashley Piver. Please let them know how much you appreciate their commitment.
The search committee will be commissioned during the April 21st vestry meeting that will take place online.
