Education for Ministry

The Education for Ministry (EfM) is a four-year course (commit to one year at a
time). We meet for 36 weekly sessions from September through May covering
the Hebrew Scriptures (Old), New Testament, history of the church, and
theology. Theological reflection and worship are an integral part of each session.
Participants do not have to be Episcopalians. Tuition is $375 per year and
scholarships are available.
Education for Ministry (EfM) is a unique four-year program in theological
education based upon small-group study and practice. Since its founding in
1975, this international program has assisted more than 80,000 participants in
discovering and nurturing their call to Christian service. EfM helps the
participants encounter the breadth and depth of the Christian tradition and bring it
into conversation with their experiences of the world as they study, worship, and
engage in theological reflection together.
