Meet the Casterellas

The Casterella family began attending Holy Cross on Christmas Eve 2018 and have been regular attendees since. The family of four moved from the Rocky Mountains to North Carolina in August 2018, just a few weeks before Hurricane Florence hit. Gretchen is a professor in the Cameron School of Business at UNCW and Jeff is a distance-based accounting professor at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. Additionally, Jeff is developing and overseeing a construction project in Kure Beach. Jack is a senior at Coastal Christian High School and plans to pursue a degree at UNCW starting in fall of 2019. Matt is in 4th grade at Myrtle Grove Christian School and enjoys playing soccer. The family spends a month each summer in New Zealand when Jeff and Gretchen work with colleagues there.

We love to travel and were attracted to the Wilmington area after visiting Kure Beach on many vacations. We were blessed to discover Holy Cross, with its welcoming community and inspirational sermons. We appreciate Rev. Chana's openness to questions, the genuine smiles and warmth of the parishioners, and the beautiful communion invitation at worship services.
