Good Shepherd Ministries - Andy and Ada will be in the parking lot at Holy Cross, donning masks and gloves, on Sunday, May 10 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. in order to collect the following items for delivery to Good Shepherd on Monday:
- quarters (for washing machines at motels that Good Shepherd Ministries uses for housing); please bag them eight per Ziploc bag
- laundry detergent (any kind, any size);
- men’s underwear-new, size large, any style, boxers or briefs;
- Sandwiches: they have requested turkey, ham and/or cheese, wrapped individually in Ziploc bags.
In addition, the Atkinson's will be collecting the traditional food stuffs that Holy Cross normally accumulates each Sunday for delivery to the Federal Point Help Center. For the month of May, FPHC has requested tuna fish, canned meat, cold cereal, jelly and peanut butter
This has the potential to be a recurring project for Holy Cross that will give us the opportunity to stay involved, while still engaging in social distancing! Andy has reached out to other organizations that we support. For the most part they are in good shape and currently have no specific or urgent needs.
How about other ways that you can stay involved and help others through Holy Cross outreach?
Trinity Grove needs cloth gowns for care of Residents in isolation. Cotton. They take about 3 yards of fabric, have long sleeves and elastic wristbands. Reimbursement for materials is available. Contact Kimberly McIrney, 617 512-5206, with questions.
