Silent Gifts at Holy Cross Kick- Off
On Thursday, Sept. 3 at 6:30 PM, Holy Cross parishioners gathered in the church parking lot to participate in a short Compline service via FM radio transmission. Jonathan Graves led the custom Compline service while church music leader Ethan Roeben and his wife Kaylee led the in-car attendees in live, sing-along music to invigorate the gathering.
The meeting served as a kickoff for the month-long program of Silent Gifts, one where those taking part are paired with another member of the parish to mail an anonymous, simple gift to them once a week. The gift does not need to cost anything or be fancy, perhaps just a small note of encouragement or prayer. These small acts of kindness are additional ways people can embrace one another during these difficult times of COVID-19
