Newcomers/Visitors Update

Many will remember that back in January we held a newcomer/visitor forum. All are welcome at Holy Cross and we wanted input to make sure we truly were welcoming visitors, including newcomers, and caring for current parishioners who we hadn’t seen in a while. Grandmother's Cornbread Recipe

INGREDIENTS 2-1/4 cups Butter 2-3/4 cups & 3 tablespoons white sugar 9 eggs 4-1/2 cups buttermilk 2-1/4 teaspoons baking soda 4-1/2 cups cornmeal 4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour 2-1/4 teaspoon salt DIRECTIONS 1. Guardian ad Litem

So many have asked, “How can you work with children – it’s just too sad and depressing.” I ask you, “How can you not? If not for us – then who?” Jesus said the children will inherit the Kingdom of God. I pray that I will be holding or have held a child’s hand when they meet God. If I can make a difference in only one child’s life, I will have made a profound difference in my life. Cub Scout Update

Pack #283 Cub Scouts are collecting food for the needy! This is a Scout service project and our young Pack is participating during the month of November. If you receive a yellow placard on you door in November, please participate. All food items must be in a can. We cannot collect perishables or items in a bag. Our new pack has 3 Dens with a total of 17 boys. They live in our community and attend Bellamy, Codington and Cape Fear Center for Inquiry. All the boys are 6-8 years old, and full of ene…
