Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in Place

Holy Cross recently acquired and installed an AED.  An automated exteranl defibrillator (AED) is a portable device that checks the heart rhythm and can send an electric shock to the heart to try to restore its normal rhythm.  It is used to treat sudden cardiac arrest.     The device is located to the left of the entry way right above the fire extinguisher as soon as you enter the Fellowship Hall.  Approximately 20 people at Holy Cross received  instruction on its use.  Step-by-step instruction…

Newcomers - Team Update

I am excited to report on all the great work being done by our new newcomer teams! As you know, we held a newcomer brainstorming forum in January.  We wanted to put together a comprehensive program to welcome newcomers/visitors and help them become as much a part of the Holy Cross family as they wish. United Thank Offering (UTO)

UTO boxes are available on the table in the gathering area. This is primarily a ministry of the Episcopal Church Women (ECW). However, UTO is a ministry of the Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole church. We nurture the habit of giving daily, thanks to God, and in doing so we recognize our many daily blessings. Reflections

On Holy Saturday, Andy and I went to the memorial service for The Rev. Jack Ormond at St James Church. It was a wonderful service, a packed house and a beautifully decorated church for Easter Sunday. Jack was much loved in this diocese. Donna and I have known Jack since we came to East Carolina in 1978, a long time.
