Service Times:
Sundays at 8:00 am and 10:30 am
Wow! What a difference 12 days make! I want to thank all who made this vacation possible. It truly was a get-away! It was a busy and wonderful time for Stacy and me with our family and grandchildren, followed by a day or two of rest (sleeping) before going to Trinity Center. All of which brought together an answered prayer that we would bring family together in our journey together. This was a time for reconnecting and building stronger ties. Thank you to you, our wonderful members, for giving me this opportunity.
If I had any take aways from this time, I would say that I am choosing to prioritize tasks as I re-engage my ministry. I am looking forward to expanding the Eucharistic Visitors ministry by offering another training. I am excited to hear that the Porch Talks are so well received and that the second meeting was better than the first! Small group encounters are another way of doing ministry. Roni Hursthouse and her worker bees of the Loupads group are off and running. The Strategic Long-Term Planning group is engaged in robust discussions. If you have thoughts about where you would like to see HCEW in two, three, or even five years from now, please talk with Bob Underwood.
In August, in addition to our regular meetings and ministries, there will be two additional opportunities to gather. On Sunday, 8/18, I will moderate another parish wide “town hall meeting” so that the vestry, others in leadership, and I can answer your questions. This event will occur between services as part of our monthly Agape Breakfast! Come and share your thoughts; Be heard!
The other opportunity is a new “Boots on the Ground” outreach project” at Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard. The link in the article for Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard will allow you to sign up to participate! This will be a fun time to be with friends and to give back to this community. Contact Pat Baker at pat.baker4@gmail.com and/or at 910-232-5206.
I am looking forward to the adventure that God brings to us in the weeks and months ahead.
Blessings,
Rev. Anne
