Dear Friends in Christ,
I spent this past week at Trinity Center. Anytime one spends time on a retreat, it’s a gift. Trinity Center is a gift to the diocese. For the week, thirty-three individuals were sequestered in this beautiful place, allowing for deep conversations, fellowship, and rest.
On Saturday morning, a couple of hours for reflection was built into the schedule. I chose to leave the property and drive twenty minutes south. (I do my best meditating when driving.)
On my return, I took this picture of the clouds and by the time I arrived back at Trinity Center, I had this thought, “These clouds are the storms of life and I am always with you.”
In 1 John 4:13 we read, “By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit”, and many times throughout the Bible, we are reminded that God is with the Israelites, the Jews, and God is with us. Jesus carries us as he does in the poem, Footprints in the Sand by Mary Stevenson (1984). Jesus has carried many of us through the storms of life. At the end of which we will receive abundant and eternal life.
In what ways have the storms of life shaped you?
How has God shown up in your life?
Blessings,
Anne+
