Dear People of Faith,
December 27th is the feast day of St. John the Apostle. This day honors St. John the Beloved, who is recognized as the author of the Fourth Gospel and the Book of Revelation. The feast serves as a continuation of the Christmas season celebrations and emphasizes St. John's close relationship with Christ and his role as a theologian of divine love.
In John 1:12-13 we hear of John’s love for Christ as he expresses the nature of God’s love for his children with “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”
In the promise of Christmas is Jesus is God’s incarnate of LOVE. In the season of Christmas may you have a blessed season full of love and hope. Enjoy this Christmas prayer adapted from the Facebook page, BeHumanBeKing
A Christmas Prayer
Lord, as we step into Christmas,
quiet our hearts in a world that never stops rushing.
Heal what this year has broken—
the silent tears, the unspoken disappointments,
the prayers we almost gave up on.
Bless our homes with peace,
not perfection, and our days with meaning,
not just success.
Protect our loved one wherever they are,
and wrap the lonely in warmth they didn’t know
they needed.
Teach us to let go of what we cannot control
and trust You with what lies ahead.
Replace fear about the future with faith,
and exhaustion with renewed strength.
Help us forgive easily, love deeply,
and walk gently into the new year.
May Christmas remind
us that even in the darkest nights,
light is still born.
Thank you for carrying us this far,
We are in Your hands. Amen.
Blessings,
Rev. Anne
