Things to do to get involved: MARCH 2026 REPAIR CAFÉ WILMINGTON

▪ Feb 10 Are you good at fixing things? Would you like to teach someone else how to get more life out of a broken household item or a favorite piece of clothing? Volunteer to be a repair coach for the March 21 Repair Café.


▪ Feb 12 Did you know that recycling and re-using household items reduces greenhouse gas emissions, saves energy, and reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators? Bring a broken item to the Repair Café on March 21 and be a part of the repair revolution!


▪ Feb 17 Repair Café teaches the lost art of fixing household items. Watch this story about a hands-on learning experience for extending the life of your small appliances and furniture.


▪ Feb 24 Become a part of the international repair movement! From Wilmington and throughout the world, Repair Cafés are teaching people how to repair broken stuff.


▪ Feb 26 Meet repair coaches from the greater Wilmington area who can guide you in how to repair your child’s favorite stuffed animal or toy. Join us at the Repair Café on March 21. Click here to register!


▪ Mar 3 Did you know that in FY 2023-2024, 433,933 tons of municipal solid waste came to the New Hanover County landfill? Compare this with 222,527 tons in FY 2013-2014. In just one decade, the amount of waste per year has nearly doubled! Come to the Repair Café on March 21 to get help with repairing an item, versus throwing it out, and see what other people are recycling.


▪ Mar 5 Discover the joy of fixing things! Gain a sense of accomplishment from learning to repair a small appliance or mend a torn jacket. Join us on March 21 for Wilmington’s first-ever Repair Café!


▪ Mar 10 Broken lamp or vacuum cleaner? Jammed paper shredder? No problem! Learn how to fix it at the March 21 Repair Café in Wilmington.


▪ Mar 12 While you’re learning to repair things, kids are welcome to explore at the Take it Apart Table where they’ll be encouraged to see what’s inside a broken item. They will be supervised by a knowledgeable adult.


Mar 17 It’s your lucky day! There’s still time to register for the Repair Café on March 21.


▪ Mar 19 – Do you miss wearing that favorite torn shirt? Wish you knew how to sew on a button? Come to the Repair Café on March 21 to learn how to bring these beloved items back to your wardrobe!


▪ Mar 20 Learn repair skills while getting to know interesting people in your community. Plan to attend the Repair Café on March 21 – register here!


▪ Mar 21 Make today a repair day! Come to the Repair Café (1:00-5:00) at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, 5820 Myrtle Grove Road. Learn how to fix your VCR or hem your favorite pair of pants! Walk-ins welcomed.
